Pre-Thermal Remediation Checklist

Pre-Thermal Remediation Checklist

    • Do NOT remove infested materials from the infested room. Except for the items below, leave everything in your home. It is important that you DO leave everyting in place.

    • Everyone will have to leave for the entire day. Remove pets such as cats, dogs, fish, etc.

    • Be careful of any items you plan on wearing or taking with you to ensure they are bed bug free such as purses, handbags, backpacks, shoes, briefcases, etc.

    • All electrical equipment (TV’s, computers, radios, clocks) must be unplugged from wall outlets.

    • Turn off all ventilation such as the Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditions system. We will be placing tape over these systems.

    • Clothing in drawers may be left, but if articles are densely packed, remove them and place in loosely open-weave laundry baskets.

    • Gather loose papers and plastic trash bags that would be blown about by a stiff wind and put them in boxes. Powerful fans will be used to distribute hot air.

    • Take down valuable articles on shelves that might be damaged if someone brushes against them. We will be moving large, heavy equipment and do not want to damage these items.

    • If a waterbed or air bed (Select Comfort) is present, drain or deflate bladders.

    • Make sure a path about the width of a door is clear for the movement of large equipment

You MUST place the following items in containers/boxes and leave them by the door:

    • Compressed gases, flammable or combustible chemicals including gasoline, propane, butane, cigarette lighters, light fuel.

    • All aerosols and pressurized cans including hairspray, spray-on deodorants, bug sprays, spray paints, asthma inhalers, and aerosol cleaning products.

    • Chocolate and other meltable foodstuffs and candy (may be placed in refrigirator).

    • All medicines (may be left in the refrigirator).

    • Candles, wax figurines, and oil paintings or any items you are unsure of that may be affected.

    • Musical instruments that could be damaged by heat, such as guitars.

    • All flammable materials, including butane lighters, lamp fuel, fuel for food warmers, solvents, ammunition/black powder, etc.

    • Indoor plants including seeds and bulbs. Fruits and vegetables may be kept in the refrigirator.

    • Carbonated beverages or drinks under pressure such as 2 liter colas, wine bottles, canned soda and/or beer, etc (may be kept in the refrigirator).

    • Any items of value that might be damaged by temperatures ranging between 120°F-150°F.

After treatment you will notice clothing, mattress, blankets, sofa cushions, etc. are not the way you left them. We must move these items to get even distribution. THANK YOU! --Wil-Kil Pest Control
