Terminix Wil-Kil Pest Control will host a free Bed Bug Boot Camp on Feb. 20 at Riverview Gardens, 1101 S. Oneida St., Appleton.

Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. The program runs from 8 to 11 a.m. Topics discussed include the biology and behavior of bed bugs, the importance of inspections, and various treatment and prevention techniques available — including canine scent detection.

“Our Bed Bug Boot Camps allow managers in the real estate, hospitality, health care, senior living and other affected industries to come together and share the most up-to-date knowledge on bed bug prevention and treatment techniques,” said Randy Allen, regional manager of Terminix Wil-Kil, an operating division of Copesan Services Inc. with offices in Sun Prairie, Menomonee Falls, Eau Claire and Appleton. “In the past year, we have seen a spike in bed bug populations on both a local and national scale.”
